Samsung W25. !!!
Each year, Samsung releases its foldable phones in the Chinese market under the W-series. These devices are largely similar to the Z-series but feature design modifications that appeal to local consumers. Additionally, they come in a premium retail box to justify their higher price and typically offer more RAM and storage compared to the Z models.
The upcoming Samsung W25 will be particularly noteworthy, as it will be based on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, which is currently exclusive to South Korea. This model features larger cover and internal displays, measuring 6.5 inches and 8.0 inches, compared to the 6.3-inch and 7.6-inch displays on the standard Z Fold6. However, it will not support the S Pen and will include a 200MP main camera, upgrading from the previous 50MP unit.
In terms of design, the Samsung W25 features a black exterior with gold accents along the metal sides and camera bump, following the signature style of the W-series. The sides showcase a patterned texture rather than the typical smooth metal finish.
Samsung also offers clamshell foldables in the W-series. The Samsung W25 Flip will be based on the Galaxy Z Flip6, as there is no Special Edition for this model.
Samsung China does offer the standard Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 for those who prefer them. The W24, based on last year’s Z Fold5, is currently priced at CNY 13,000 for the 16GB/1TB model. In comparison, the Z Fold6 is available for CNY 14,000 for the 12GB/512GB model and CNY 16,000 for the 12GB/1TB version. It’s worth noting that the W24 originally launched at CNY 16,000 a year ago.
There are several reasons to choose the W-foldable over the Z-foldable, beyond the extra RAM and enhanced aesthetics. For instance, the W series includes a retail package that comes with a charger and a case—an added touch of luxury. We’re just having a bit of fun, but it’s true that the W25 Flip also includes a charger and case, which is a notable contrast to the minimalist packaging of the standard Z Flip6.
