The FlipGo Portable Dual Monitor stands out with its distinctive design, setting it apart from traditional portable monitors. When folded, it resembles a compact laptop, making it easy to carry. However, once unfolded, its true nature becomes clear: two stacked screens designed to enhance both vertical and horizontal productivity.
The build quality strikes a balance between durability and portability. The lightweight construction makes it easy to transport, while the materials used feel sturdy enough to withstand regular use. Despite its slim profile, the FlipGo doesn’t compromise on strength, ensuring it can endure the rigors of daily travel and work. However, there are a few design elements worth discussing in further detail.
The main body of the FlipGo Portable Dual Monitor is crafted from a combination of aluminum alloy and high-grade plastic. The aluminum provides a premium feel and enhances durability, especially for the outer casing. This added weight is understandable, given its dual-screen design, but it does affect its portability. Carrying it along with a laptop and other essentials can make for a heavier load, which may be a consideration for frequent travelers. However, when folded, the FlipGo is about the same size as a 16-inch laptop, making it compact enough to fit into most laptop bags or backpacks.
The FlipGo feels solid and well-built, with no noticeable flexing in the frame or screens. The hinge mechanism appears durable enough to withstand frequent adjustments, though the exposed ribbon cable near the hinge could pose a concern for long-term use. The choice of materials ensures the monitor can handle occasional bumps and knocks, but it’s recommended to use the protective cover during travel to prevent potential damage.
