Google Pixel 9a Price
The Google Pixel 9a is expected to launch in mid-March, and a recent leak has revealed detailed pricing for both versions of the device. As the saying goes, there’s both good news and bad news.
Let’s begin with the good news: the entry-level Pixel 9a with 128GB of storage will be priced at $499, the same as the Pixel 8a last year. Now, for the bad news: the 256GB version will cost $599, which is $40 more expensive than the launch price of the Pixel 8a’s 256GB variant.
The Google Pixel 9a
The new pricing structure aligns with the approach Google started with the Pixel 9 family in August, where the 256GB model was priced $100 higher than the 128GB version. This pricing strategy seems to be a cash grab, as the actual cost of additional storage doesn’t justify such a significant price difference. It’s a tactic Apple has used for years, and now Google appears to be following suit.
The Pixel 9a will feature a 6.285-inch display with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits and 1,800 nits of HDR brightness. It will be powered by the Tensor G4 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. The camera setup will include a 48MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide, and it will house a 5,100 mAh battery, the largest ever seen in a Pixel device.
