WhatsApp is set to introduce a streamlined new approach for creating groups and communities.
WhatsApp is constantly developing new features, and its latest effort focuses on simplifying the creation of groups and communities. According to WABetaInfo, the company is working on centralizing the creation tools within the Chats tab.
The new feature has been spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.1.11. If you’re part of the beta testing program, the update is available on the Google Play Store. Below, you can see screenshots showcasing what the new feature will look like.
WhatsApp will display new banners titled “Simplified Creation” and “Create from one space.” These banners will guide you to the Chats tab, where you can easily create groups and communities.
A new floating conversation button has been added at the bottom right corner, allowing you to start a new chat, group, or community. This update aims to streamline the interface, creating a cleaner, more focused experience on WhatsApp once it’s rolled out.
As part of the update, Meta will also remove the floating action button for creating new communities in the Communities tab. This change will help make the tab visually cleaner and less cluttered, enhancing the overall user experience.
If you frequently create new communities and groups, whether for work or personal interest, you’ll likely appreciate this update. Currently, the feature is available to a limited group of Android beta testers, and it should soon be rolled out to beta users on iOS as well.
While the feature is still in beta, it’s unclear exactly when it will be available to the general public. However, we expect it to launch sooner rather than later.
As someone who values streamlined user interfaces and a clutter-free experience, I’m fully supportive of this tweak. I prefer apps that are neat, organized, and have centralized controls, so kudos to Meta for enhancing WhatsApp’s design and functionality!
